Course Description: 

The Art Bloomers Introduction to Drawing is a free introductory course about elements of art and composition. Through this detailed course of five~six intense classes, students will be encouraged to explore the diverse world of art and step out of their comfort zones. By the end of this course, students will develop a better understanding of fundamental art concepts such as color theory, still life, and figure drawing.

Course Features: 

The Introduction to Drawing is a course put together by the Bloom Institute, which will include the following features to promote understanding of how different elements are combined together to create an artwork. Even without proper materials, students will learn how to identify different types of art elements and mediums. Students will have a great time and will be able to engage in most activities with hands-on experience.

  1. A set of various activities such as drawing from reference, shading exercises, simplifying shapes, etc to build foundational skills.
  2. A dive into different genres of art and discussion of factors that create interesting pieces.
  3. A culminating final project where students will apply everything they’ve learned from the course into a single art piece.
  4. An opportunity to showcase their art pieces in a google slides gallery.

Course Calendar: 

All classes will be held on Saturdays at 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM PST, starting March 4th.

For clarification, there will be 5 classes.
