Course Overview

Course Description:

The Personal Finance class at Bloom Institute is a free introductory course that introduces students towards the real world. It will cover concepts like investing, savings/budgeting, credit, and consumer skills. Through these detailed classes of content and review, students will gain the proper knowledge and skills to support themselves better after college and become a conscious consumer.

Course Features:
The Personal Finance course is inspired from the California CTE (Career Technical Education) Principles of Business course. Our course will include the following features to promote understanding of the different aspects of investment and budgeting, as well as plenty of engaging and interactive activities to solidify the lessons learned.

A series of discussions on fundamental financial topics and aspects of budgeting.
A set of various activities such as icebreakers, application exercises, and more as supplement to the lessons.
A culminating investments project where students will continuously invest to earn the most money by the end of the course

 

Course Calendar:
All classes will be Mondays for six weeks at 5:00 PM PST to 6:00 PM PST. For clarification, there will be a total of 6 different classes and the first class will start May 20th.
