FAQS
Students would create their own small chapter as part of Bloom Institute in their community with a group of friends/classmates. As a chapter, students would work towards solving a community issue, whether that is through teaching younger students, hosting events/workshops/competitions, volunteering to do community work (e.g. picking up trash) as a group, starting a positive campaign (e.g. no drug campaign), etc… Students will be guided by experienced leaders in Bloom Institute to start their mini passion project. If requested, Bloom Institute will provide the limited yet necessary and reasonable fundings to each chapters to start their initiative.
This program will happen over the summer. There is no set start and end date, but we recommend starting in mid-June and lasting until late-July or early-August.
Students would gain invaluable & hands-on leadership experience through this project and learn how to make community impact. After a successful completion of the program, we may admit you as part of our official Bloom Institute Chapter. You will also receive volunteer hours for however much time you spend in the program and will be eligible for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award once you have gained enough hours.
Chapter Director is the head of the team. They will lead the entire chapter to make community impact. Chapter Directors must be at least a rising 7th grader. Other members of the chapters can be anyone older than rising 6th graders. Chapters with a Chapter Director as a rising 7th/8th/9th graders will be considered a Junior Chapter. Rest (rising 10th-12th) will be considered as simply a Chapter.
